The Egyptian Aten was the God Planet Mercury
I will demonstrate how the so-called Aten has nothing whatsoever to do with the sun (Re). The Aten was originally the core of Mars. In a process involving electro-gravitational forces, it was sucked out through the Valles Marineris (enormous scar on Mars) to become the planet Mercury. This almost incomprehensible event was first proposed by J Ackerman ( http://www.firmament-chaos.com/ ).
Akhenaten, Amarna Period and Valles Marineris, Mars
The extraction of Mercury occurred sometime around the 7th century BC (Revised Chronology). The Egyptians meticulously recorded this incomprehensible event and comes to us via the heretic Mars/Akhenaten and the 17 year period (Earth-Mars synodic cycle) known as the Amarna Period.
The following is taken from a boundary stelae at Akhetaten, it clearly alludes to a separate body to the sun (Re).
Akhenaten summoned his officials in Akhetaten and solemnly announced:
"Behold Aten! The Aten wishes to have [a House?] made for him as a monument with an eternal and everlasting name. Now it is Aten, my father, who advised me concerning it, nor had any people in the entire land ever advised me concerning it, to tell me [a plan] for making Akhetaten in this distant place. … Behold, it is pharaoh who found it, when it did not belong to a god, nor to a goddess; when it did not belong to a male ruler, nor to a female ruler; when it did not belong to any people. … My father, Hor-Aten, proclaimed to me: ‘It is to belong to my Person, to be Akhetaten continually forever"

A few images of the Aten/Mercury. Please note; the following Aten's along with their unusual lopsided 'rays' were all once painted a vivid RED, not yellow as erroneously portrayed in numerous 'Hollywood' documentaries.
The distorted shape of the whole Amarna royal family, including the children, is due to extreme gravitational and magnetic forces exerted on Mars/Akhenaten and Venus/Nefertiti during close encounters with Earth, prior to, and after the extraction of Mercury/Aten from Mars/Akhenaten.
The distorted elongated children are the residual blobs or droplets of iron also torn from the interior of Mars. Some of these at least, I believe would later impact the Moon causing the Maria (large visible black circular 'seas' on the moon).
The distorted blue crown worn by Mars/Akhenaten also represents the distorted shape of Mars a planetary ring system.
Nefertiti's crown is a symbolic representation of Venus 'pillars.' An apparition that can be observed even today - only 4,000 years ago, as a result of Venus orbiting much closer to earth, such images were far more prominent (see here & here). These 'pillared' apparitions would lead to the building of enormous obelisks in the New Kingdom. Tuthmosis/Moon ('born of the lunar god Thoth') would also adorn 'pillars' and command the building of many obelisks.
The close proximity of Mars/Akhenaten ('Servant of the Aten') to Venus/Nefertiti ('The beautiful one has come') simply reveals a conjunction between Mars and Venus. The fact that they are seated suggests to me both bodies appeared almost stationary in the heavens - Mars and Venus locked into a geosynchronous orbit (spining with earth) around the earth. Most probably 'locked in' above the
Trans Himalayas, thus artificially and catastrophically dragging up this very 'recent' mountain range.
The Egyptians believed that to get to the Aten everything had to go through Akhenaten, this is because the rays of energy (light) emanating from the Aten/Mercury predominantly shone directly towards its parent body Mars/Akhenaten. Thus only Akhenaten/Mars had direct contact with Mercury/Aten.
Such scenes as above were never to be repeated before or after the Amarna era because this incomprehensible event occurred only once.
‘Gravity wave' clothing explained.
The above NASA photo shows the effect of one of Saturn's moons 'gravitationally' perturbing its rings. Compare this to the ‘see through' pleated clothing worn by numerous Egyptian monarchs (above) and ordinary people in afterlife scenes.
I am proposing here that this 'see through' attire came about as a direct result of god king planets (and other bodies) perturbing Earths ring system (Hathor) of only 4,000 years ago - this was physically observed and represented in Egyptian art.
In other words, from a ground level point of view ancient cultures observed the sky monarchy through these transparent waves and accordingly carved, painted and dressed the monarchy in transparent attire - symbolism drawn from naked eye observations.
The so-called Aten used to be the solid iron core of Mars. It was sucked out through the Valles Marineris (enormous scar on Mars) sometime in the 7th century BC. And is solely responsible for an epoch in Egyptian history know to us as the Amarna period.
The extraction of Mars' core was first proposed by American physicist John Ackerman. The Egyptians do not up and suddenly decide to rename the sun (Ra) to the Aten, to suggest such a thing is totally ridiculous.
The ‘children' touching and held by the monarchy are droplets or blobs of iron also sucked out during the extraction of the Mars core – much as you would expect really.
The unusual Aten/Mercury incomplete ‘sunrays' are not unusual at all; they represent exactly what was seen as the lopsided energy from Mercury/Aten ‘shone' on the astral divine royal figures. It is the very reason why the worship of the Aten had to go through the royal family.
The distorted shape of the above figures (including the kids) is again drawn from naked eye observations of the gravitationally distorted Mars/Akhenaten and Venus/Nefertiti and the blobs of iron.
Please note; Tutankhamun is never shown or mentioned in any sacred scenes or inscriptions during the reign of Akhenaten his erroneously presumed father - this is because they were one and the same, both names given to MARS! The same would go for Amenhotep III and Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV) they are never shown together!
