The Fire Spitting Uraeus - Protector of Ra (Sun) and the God King Planets


Wadjet (Wadjyt, Wadjit, Uto, Uatchet, Edjo)

Usually portrayed as a rearing cobra, she was thus inextricably linked with the uraeus, the archetypal serpent-image of kingship, which protruded just above the forehead in most royal crowns and headdresses. It has been suggested that the original meaning of the Greek word uraeus may have been 'she who rears up.'

Wadjet  and the vulture goddess Nekhbet were described as the nebty ('two ladies'), who served as tutelary deities of Lower and Upper Egypt respectively,symbolising the essential duality of the Egyptian world. Together they presided over one of the elements of the Royal Titulary, the 'two ladies' name, which is attested as early as the 1st Dynasty.
Wadjyt was also sometimes portrayed in leonine form, since she and the uraeus were often identified with the lioness-goddess known as the 'Eye of Ra' (Source; Dictionary of Ancient Egypt, Shaw and Nicholson).

"The goddess Wadjet comes to you in the form of the living Uraeus to anoint your head with her flames. She rises up on the left side of your head and she shines from the right side of your temples without speech; she rises up on your head during each and every hour of the day, even as she does for her father Ra, and through her the terror which you inspire in the spirits is increased ... she will never leave you, are of you strikes into the souls which are made perfect." This essay proposes that the rearing Egyptian Cobra (uraeus) was most definitely NOT...

"... unique to the ancient Egyptians imagination!"
It initially derived from first hand observations of solar phenomena such as flares and coronal mass ejections 'striking out' from our ancient hazed red Sun. In the second instance, since Egypt's god king planets exhibited similar 'striking out' and other snakelike traits by means of solar wind interactions and volcanism, they too were also perceived to be protected by the 'Great Serpent.' As a result the uraeus became an iconic symbol of protection embodied in the goddess Wadjet - taking pride and place as a cobra emblazoned on the forehead of the divine royal family as well as draped over numerous solar disks.   

Solar Flares, Prominences, Coronal Mass Ejections

A solar flare is a electromagnetic storm on the Sun which appears to be a very bright spot and a gaseous surface eruption. Solar flares release huge amounts of high-energy particles and gases and are tremendously hot (from 3.6 million to 24 million °F). They are ejected thousands of miles from the surface of the Sun.

A solar prominence (also known as a filament) is an arc of plasma that erupts from the surface of the Sun. Prominences can loop hundreds of thousands of miles into space. Prominences are held above the Sun's surface by strong magnetic fields and can last for many months. At some time in their existence, most prominences will erupt, spewing enormous amounts of solar material into space.

Coronal mass ejections
(CMEs) are huge, balloon-shaped plasma bursts that come from the Sun. As these bursts of solar wind rise above the Sun's corona, they move along the Sun's magnetic field lines and increase in temperature up to tens of millions of degrees. These bursts release up to 220 billion pounds (100 billion kg) of plasma. CMEs can disrupt Earth's satellites. CMEs usually happen independently, but are sometimes associated with solar flares. CME’s and solar flares are currently the biggest explosions in our solar system, roughly approaching the power in one billion hydrogen bombs! They give rise to streams of charged particles, which greatly increase the solar wind, which is the normal outflow of invisibly charged particles from the sun. This can have a direct effect on earth in that, if a CME collides with earth, it excites a geomagnetic storm which increases in the aurora, commonly known as the northern or southern lights.

Re (Ra), the Red Sun

As proposed 3,000 years of cosmic catastrophe (period approx. 3000 BC - birth of Christ) produced immeasurable quantities of debris, dust and gas. This debris eventually settled into the plane of the ecliptic where it had a drastic effect on the Sun's appearance. Through the eyes of the ancient Egyptians the Sun appeared as a red orb exactly as depicted throughout the Nile Valley. This is supported by the fact that Egyptian art reveals not one single golden glaring Sun with a complete 360° sweep of sun rays (more here).


The image on the left depicts a typical Egyptian Sun encircled by a yellow royal uraeus serpent (Wadjet) which was known to spit fire and venom at Egypt's enemies. The image on the right was taken by SOHO and can be used for comparison, providing some idea of how the Sun appeared in a world dominated by cosmic catastrophe.
A hazed Sun means there was no glare and the ability to look directly at the Sun without being blinded. This led to naked-eye observations such as coronal mass ejections (CMEs), flares and prominences.  Solar phenomena that, only under certain conditions, we may be privy to witness during a solar eclipse i.e. CMEs protruding from Sun when occulted by the Moon's disk.   
It has been suggested that violent flares are caused by sungrazing cometary bodies.

To quote Stephen Smith (Thunderbolts).

"Comet NEAT swung close by the Sun in 2003, apparently initiating a CME eruption that appeared to impact the comet. Astronomers at the time discounted any relationship between the two events because of the size differential between the comet and the Sun. However, several other sungrazers have been associated with violent flares. One event can be a coincidence, two can be long odds, but three or more can not be dismissed as mere oddities. "

Taking into account the above, the correlation becomes very apparent. The cobra (Wadjet) is a symbolic representation of vicious CME’s 'striking out' several times the diameter of the Sun at sungrazing cometary bodies. We have snakelike CME's protecting the body of Re by spitting fire and venom at Egypt's enemies. In ancient times, such eruptions were observable on a daily basis and led to the natural belief that Re was the primary contestant in a perennial battle against the forces of evil. 
The yellow coronal ring encompassing the divine snake represents the highly charged million-degree corona of the Sun, bursting through as a yellow ring due to its 20 million degree temperature. Gold really was the 'flesh of the gods', as bursts of golden energy were also observed emanating from the body of Re, as in the image above. Here we may make sense of Wadjet's epithet 'goddess of the placenta' - she was the goddess of Re's organs (and the kings). There may also be a connection here with material connected to the Sun via a snakelike umbilical cord.   

The origin of the cobra lies with the Sun. uraeus_cobra_snae_wadjet

“Even before its identification with the king, the cobras protective attributes were recognised, and it was identified as the eye of Re, sometimes protecting his solar disk by spitting fire and venom.” (Dictionary of Ancient Egypt p67 Shaw & Nicholson)

Sacred Egyptian text further confirm direct observations of CMEs striking out from the Sun.

"Re arises, his uraeus upon him...."  
(Utterance 298, R. O. Faulkner, The ancient Egyptian Pyramid Texts)

"My vision is cleared, my heart is in its proper place, my uraeus (cobra) is with me every day. I am Re, who himself protects himself, and nothing can harm me ."

(Book of the Dead, Faulkner p58)

"O Uraeus, being on top of Re... "

(Turin Museo Egizio 1791, Tb 034)

“This is the fire which shines behind Re and which is concentrated behind him.”
(Spell 136b Book of the Dead 126.)

“Thy heart is glad the Uraeus rises before thee.”

(Budge, Egyptian Language p73, citation 13)

The latter text can be explained as follows:
Earth's dusty atmosphere combined with a solar system littered with debris sees massive CMEs herald the actual rising of Re's red disk - Re, having defeated the demons of the underworld once again rises victorious in the east. The Egyptians believed that the sun might just not rise again the next day, given cosmic catastrophe and observations of the Sun engaged in a perennial battle, such a belief becomes totally understandable. A classic case of mythology having its basis in some extraordinary but very real events.

The God King Planets

Our attention now turns to the reason why the cobra was displayed on the headdress of Egypt's divine monarchy. There are at least two main reasons for this - two processes which caused the kingly planets to exhibit similar traits to that of their father Re. Some of which are interlinked.

1. Solar wind interactions:
Observations of fiery snakelike apparitions produced as the solar wind slams into errant planets. 

2. Volcanism: 
(a) Observations of volcanic eruptions taking on snakelike forms as they are seen lashing out into space.
(b) Snakelike streams of material from the interior of Mars thrown out into space from the enormous chasm, the Valles Marineris.
(c) Volcanism of sorts, as boiling, bubbling magma is seen emanating from close proximity planetary bodies (mainly Venus).

1. Solar wind interactions.

This involves the solar wind, a stream of charged particles slamming into errant planets thus producing serpent-like apparitions at the point of impact. Depending on which body, the solar would was also seen to strip off or peel away parts of the planet's atmosphere - this also taking on a snakelike form. To Egyptian eyes, this was the goddess Wadjet affording her protection to the astral monarchy.

Comet Venus

What follows is a brief outline of my proposed Comet Venus thesis which needs to be covered. A more in depth understanding can be gleaned here, or if you can offer a little support, please purchase the book here.

The 'comet crown' worn by the queens of the New Kingdom was a true representation of Venus as it appeared in ancient times. A conclusion reached principally by comparing the queens crowns with an animation of the solar wind colliding with Venus today, as can be seen below. 
On the left, a typical Comet Venus crown, on the right an image of Venus interacting with the solar wind, a stream of charged particles that flow out from the Sun. As proposed the resemblance is immediately obvious, far too close to be deemed coincidental. The crown represents Comet Venus as it graced our skies only a few thousand years ago.

Of interest here, however, is the highly significant placement of the two cobras at the point at which the solar wind slams into the Venusian surface. Comparing this with the impact point in the Venus diagram the iconography becomes apparent. The two cobras represent the shimmering point of impact - electrical manifestations glowing and shimmering and taking on the attributes of serpent snakes similar to that observed emanating from Re. The cobras are also shown wearing a solar disk with enveloping horns to further signify (in this case) the protective force of the goddesses Wadjet. The shimmering apparitions are probably better viewed via the very cool animation below.

Comet Venus.

Bearing in mind this is a CGI of Venus today; four thousand years ago at the height of planetary chaos the solar wind was far more intense (fed by immeasurable quantities of debris) and Venus far more dynamic as it produced countless tons of sulphurous gas from its newly formed boiling hot magma surface during. At this time, Venus was unable to hold on to any sort of atmosphere - the solar wind relentlessly slammed into its surface, striping its noxious gasses in the process. As a result Wadjet's divine serpent snakes were far more active, far more incessant, far more profound. Moreover, highly visible as there was no glare from the Sun.      

The same applies to the other perpetrators of chaos notably the warring (god kings) Mars, Mercury and the Moon. Intense solar storms also slammed into these bodies creating flaming snakelike forms on the sun-facing side of the planet.

Sacred Inscriptions

The following sacred inscriptions are unequivocal in connotation - they are clearly alluding to astral bodies exhibiting similar serpent traits to that of the sun - planetary bodies, under the many guises of Egypt's god kings protected by the goddess Wadjet, hence, her title as the 'Protector of Horus' (Horus, the embodiment of kingship, the astral guardian of the planetary kings).

Tuthmosis III (Moon)
"Re himself established me, I was dignified with the diadems which were upon his head, his serpent-diadem, rested upon my forehead, he satisfied me with all his glories; I was seated with the counsel of the gods, like Horus, when he counted his body at the house of my father, Amun-Re. I was presented with the dignities of a god, with my diadems." (Breasted Vol 2 p61)

Ramesses III (Mars)
"While I sit upon the throne of Harakhte, and the serpent-diadem is fixed upon my head, like Re." (Breasted Vol 4 p39) (Harakhte = Horus of the horizon i.e. a planetary king observed almost stationary on the horizon). 
"My fame makes the great ones of the countries to bow down, while the uraeus upon my forehead in all lands." (Breasted)

Mars, having once had a earth-like magnetic field prior to the catastrophic events would also exhibit a crown(s) of serpent snakes at its polar regions, similar to earth's aurora borealis and Jupiter's aurora.

The inscription below is most certainly referring to a planetary king appearing in the image of the red sun, and the text "double serpent-diadems" is probably referring to Ramesses/Mars' aurora.

"Thou (Ramesses) art like the sun (LITERALLY!), when he rises; men live at thy appearance. Give to us the breath, which thou givest, that we may hail thy double serpent-diadem, that we may speak of thy might to our sons' sons. They are brought low through the fear of thee, of which we tell them; O thou Sun (again, literally!) over Egypt, like the one which is in heaven, King Ramses." (ibid p74: my Parenthesis).

In contrast to the usual single uraeus of Egyptian pharaohs, Egypt's queens were often crowned with two uraeuses, why was this?

Dynamics and the contrasting compositions of the planets (and chaos) would dictate exactly what was and wasn't seen. For example; Mars' demise from an earth-like planet (in every sense) to its now frozen desolate state saw its magnetic field initially protect it from the solar wind - consequently producing far less fiery 'impact' serpents than the newly formed Venus, which having no intrinsic protective shield invited the sun's wind to slam directly into is surface, creating an overactive impact point. This was played out in the imagery where Egypt's queens were often portrayed with the double uraei.

Egyptian kings on the other hand, were rarely, if ever, portrayed with the double snake emblem. Only during later times do we see Nubian kings emulating Egyptian queens by adorning the double uraeus. I reason this is more to do with Mercury in the guise of god kings, taking on a black hue as it migrated towards, and transited (passed in front of) the Sun. Mercury at this time also exhibited twin fiery snakes, similar to comet Venus. Again the iconography and sacred inscriptions fully corroborate this as demonstrated below.

"I (King Taharka) had taken the diadems of Re, and I had assumed the double serpent-crest as the [......] protection of my limbs."

The electrical (solar wind) interactions between the sun and the planets as discussed above are to be seen more as invoking Wadjet's protective traits as is symbolically represented in the image on the right. Here the red orb of Mars/Ramesses (not the Sun!) is clearly named via the cartouche placed below the disk. It contains the throne name of Ramesses, User-maat-Re which means "Powerful by the Truth of Re" (ref) - a very apt title. And, in an act of protecting and guaranteeing the endurance of the monarchy, the goddess Wadjet wraps her tail around Ramesses's red disk and his name.  

The Eye of Re, The Fiery Eye

"Then I bestowed upon my Eye the uraeus of fire, and it was wroth with me..." (ref)

A recognisable feature to the ancients would be the fact that the serpent apparitions were seen emanating from the direction of the Sun (Re). A simple analogy would be the light, or 'eye' of Re shining on the planets. It was recognised that Re was the source of this power and such observations duly led to Wadjet's epithets 'The Eye of Re,' 'She of the Fiery Eye' and 'The Noble Serpent who Flowed Forth from the Eye.' Wadjet worn on the brow of the planet kings in part to represent the Fiery Eye of Re - fitting physical descriptions and representations of solar phenomena recorded by the ancient Egyptians.      

Volcanism - Snakelike eruptions and snaking rivers of lava.

A second reason for the iconic cobra lies with volcanism. Observations of planetary bodies (mainly Mars) ejecting material (striking out) several hundred kilometers out into space. Depending on which body, this would manifest itself in many different ways, nevertheless the visual aspect was much the same; the astral monarchy were all seen too exhibit similar 'striking out' qualities and thus invoked Wadjet's more aggressive, even deadly 'spitting fire and venom' traits. In addition to this, vast molten hot lava rivers were also seen 'snaking' across the surface of the astral monarchy, further promoting the goddess Wadjet.

The catastrophic destruction of Mars (home) from a planet virtually the same as earth (only smaller) to its now frozen desolate state would see Mars set numerous precedents in Egyptian art and beliefs. With this in mind we will discuss volcanism on Mars first. 

Volcanism on the planet Mars

Mars is only about one-half the size of Earth and yet has several volcanoes that surpass the scale of earth's largest volcanoes. It is home to the largest volcano in the solar system Olympus Mons. Rising 16 miles above the surface, this monster is three times taller than the tallest mountain on Earth (Mount Everest only rises 5 miles) and stretches some 370 miles – the distance from Boston to Washington DC. It makes the largest landform on Earth look like an anthill!

If we travel back some 4,000 years to the peak of planetary chaos, massive internal stresses within Mars was relieved to a degree through volcanism. Olympic Mons was the primary vent, churning out vigorous volumes of white hot gushing lava - nothing on earth would compare to the ejecta expelled by this monster. Mars' Ascraeus Mons, Arsia Mons and Pavonis Mons along with a dozen lesser volcanoes would also contribute in churning out tons of molten lava.  

Ignited primary by close encounters with earth, the volcanoes on Mars erupted with tremendous ferocity sending fiery streams of lava and chunks of debris several kilometers out into space especially the mega giant Olympus Mons. These ejections were seen and in taking on similar snakelike features to those observed striking out from the Sun, they were naturally attributed to the Great Serpent Wadjet.

Although nowhere near the same scale the following images of the Kilauea Volcano erupting on the island of Hawaii gives us a very rough visual idea of what may have been seen. Only we need to be thinking on a far, far grander scale here - the eruption of a number of gigantic volcanoes on a smaller parent body shooting tons of lava skywards before falling back to the surface.

Volcanism on other bodies today may further promote the visual aspect of errant bodies displaying coronal 'prominences.' For example, the computer image on the left shows Jupiter's Moon Io with erupting volcanoes. Here we are presented with a image that probably isn't a million miles away from how Mars may have appeared at times. We just need to give Io an incandescent red disk glow, increase the size of its volcanoes about fifty fold, substitute the metallic sodium ejecta for lava and throw in large quantities of dust and debris - this would give us a comparable likeness. Although I hasten to add, Mars appeared in a variety of colours, even blue, hence the wearing of the blue crown by the Pharaohs of the New Kingdom.

Mars (as other bodies) also appeared golden similar to the more familiar 'golden' Io on the right. It was mainly daytime observations of golden planets that led to the addition of the 'Golden Horus' name given to the kings.  Jupiter's_moon_Io_volcanism_volcanoes

The lashing out, or coronal 'prominences' of the god king planets is clearly represented in the inscriptions and iconography:

* Psusennes was buried with a golden face mask in a silver coffin, this suggests Mercury appeared predominantly silver with a golden 'face,' the latter probably being the side facing the Sun taking on a golden hue. My identification may be incorrect, the Egyptians may be referring to a silvery Moon with a golden 'face' (i.e. the Moons Maria formed as a result of gigantic iron based impacts (low velocity) from Mars - these taking on a golden hue before cooling down).  

Psusennes throne name; "The star that rises (shines) in Tanis." Hardly a name given to a human!

"He (Amun) shall deliver them into the flaming wrath of the king (Amenhotep) on the day of his anger; his serpent-diadem shall spit fire upon their heads, shall consume their limbs, shall devour their bodies, they shall become like Apophis on the morning of New Year's Day." (Breasted Vol 2)

Tuthmosis I (Moon, "Born of the God Thoth")
"His majesty (Tuthmosis) was furious thereat, like a panther, his majesty cast his first lance, which remained in the body of that fallen one. This was ........ powerless before his flaming uraeus, made so in an instant of destruction; their people were brought off as living prisoners." (Breasted Vol 2 p34)

Snaking Rivers of Lava

Volcanic eruptions, as you would expect also produced gigantic rivers of lava (as in the image of the Kilauea volcano above) which meandered across the surface of Mars. Vast, incandescent, mainly golden rivers of boiling hot lava 'snaking' several hundred kilometers across an already boiling hot surface, especially on the slopes of Olympus Mons.  

The legacy of Mars' divine snakes.

These vast lava rivers are represented in the headgear as below.


Pharaonic planets with the tell tails signs of snaking rivers of lava represented in Wadjet's body and tail which meander across the crowns of the god kings.              

The top two images depict the kings wearing the Blue Crown which derived from a spinning Mars with a hazy ring system around its girth, and although this is subject for future discussion I would like to further point out that the small circular reliefs represent electrical discharges or high energy impacts. A visual analogy would be Venus' birth mark on Jupiter i.e. the Great Red Spot. In actuality the circular imprints wouldn't be so uniformed, but the Egyptians were always ones for symmetry.    

Wadjet, Mistress of the Atef-Crown, Mother of Creation, Serpent Mother.

Wadjet was often depicted sporting a gold or red disk as can be seen in the following images.

On the left is queen Nefertari great wife to the 'Re of Rulers,' Ramesses the Great (Mars) on the right. Nefertari is wearing the Comet Venus crown which is an exact physical representation of Venus as it appeared in ancient times. Ramesses is wearing a similar elaborate plumed crown.    

Ramesses's crown is a near as dam it physical representation of Mars as it appeared in ancient times i.e. we have the red disk of Mars partially buffering the solar wind as it desperately tries to hold on to its magnetic field, thus creating the 'rams horns.' The solar wind, as with Nefertiti's Comet Venus headdress strips vast quantities of dust, gas and debris from Mars forming the two enormous cometary tails. But how do we explain the well chosen placement of the cobra goddess Wadjet sporting relatively large disks on her head?  

While there's no doubt the large fire breathing volcanoes on Mars played a significant part here by catapulting  great blobs of material, pieces of magma, lava bombs out into space, hence Wadjet adorning a disk, there is much more to this, especially when dealing with Mars.

Valles Marineris

valles_marineris-chasm-mars-scarThe Valles Marineris (Right) is an enormous gash on the face of Mars. The Grand Canyon is minute when compared to this great chasm. Just as the Great Red Spot dominates the face of Jupiter, the Valles Marineris, at 4,500 km long and 7 km deep, is a dominant feature of the Martian landscape and dwarfs all other such features in the solar system. Planetary scientists have yet to establish a satisfactory explanation for this enormous scar (please notice the three large volcanoes on the left).

Originally proposed by physicist and catastrophist J. Ackerman the Valles Marineris was created when the heart of Mars, its solid iron core was sucked out to become the planet we now call Mercury. As Ackerman points out, the length of Mars' great scar is as good as the same diameter as Mercury, this is surely no coincidence! I believe this almost incomprehensible 'second Sun genesis' is recorded in history and comes to us via the Amarna Period. An approximately twenty year epoch where the Egyptian's apparently though it would be a good idea to rename the Sun as the Aten, or 'disk of the Sun.' I further contend the Aten was the newly mercury-iron-core-mars-planetsextracted Mercury, born in the skies above earth. It's energy (light) blotted out Re, thus taking over Re's role and becoming the 'disk of Re,' or 'being Re' for about 17 years (Earth-Mars synodic cycle?). After rapidly cooling down, the old order along with Egypt's traditional sky gods returned with a vengeance and monotheism, the worship of the one true Sun (the Aten/Mercury), all but disappeared. There is much more information on the 'Mercury from Mars' proposal and exactly where its written down contained throughout my web and in my books.

There is no way Mercury just 'popped out' of Mars, on the contrary, this was a truly monumental and very chaotic messy event (words will never suffice). The extraction began long before the Amarna Period and the reverberations were felt for many years thereafter. In studying the art and literature of the ancient Egyptians I'm guessing this lasted about three hundred years plus.

During this period the spinning Mars ejected incalculable amounts of material through the Valles Marineris. This would include countless tons of lava and, more importantly colossal quantities of molten iron (and vaporised sand) from around the core of Mars. This took on the form of gigantic snakelike streams of material further birthing large spherical chunks of iron from the body of Pharaonic Mars. Another way of describing it would be Mars 'fissioned' off 'droplets' or 'blobs' of iron via great streamers, so to speak. This was symbolically represented in the crowns worn by the warrior pharaohs before, during, and after Mercury's birth.

With this in mind, it is now possible to understand the enigmatic crown worn by Ramesses in the image above - it is explained as follows. Ramesses/Mars, at this point in time, which was after the birth of Mercury, was seen with enormous blobs of iron satellites connected to Mars via large serpentlike umbilical cords. Through Egyptian eyes, we have the goddess wadjet 'birthing' astral entities or Egyptian doubles (kas, see Egyptian Dualism). The crowns worn by the kings below tell a similar story.

Tutankhamun (Mars) with his queen Ankhesenamun (Comet Venus) immediately after the birth of the Aten/Mercury (top centre orb with unusual lopsided 'sunrays'). Tutankhamun/Mars (represented by the actual person) is surrounded by numerous snakes and satellites prompting numerous representations of the goddess Wadjet replete with many disks throughout this whole scene. The iconography reveals the orb of Mars wasn't seen during this time, nor too was Mars' great scar, far too much going on, just a den of snakes and golden orbs and somewhere in the midst was Mars/Tutankhamun. This would be in contrast to the time of Ramesses (Mars), where as the image above reveals, the red orb of Mars was observed and accordingly represented. If you look closely you will see that the crowns of both king and queen are further surmounted by a crown of numerous snakes with orbs, we will discuss this shortly. 

The Aten/Mercury having cooled down from a glaring orb to an incandescent and traditional red disk now joins the royal bloodline of celestial god kings. One of the first pharaonic names given Mercury was Seti "He of the God Seth." A very apt title since Seti/Mercury appeared to cause untold destruction above and below. In regards to Ramesses and Seti, I reason that we are dealing with two separate bodies here since both are shown together in many battles (unverified!) scenes fighting Egypt's enemies - and they cannot both be guises of the same body.

During this co-regency (co-rule, as recorded in history) I believe Seti/Mercury (and subsequent guises of Mercury) continued to 'peel' or fission off blobs of iron based material from its exterior as too did Mars from the Valles Marineris. I mention this because the images below depict Seti/Mercury wearing similar crowns to that of Ramesses/Mars and as stated above they cannot both be the same body. I would further argue this would be a logical sequential order of events.

Here the crown is not surmounted by a further crown of snakes with orbs as with Tut and his wife, this may turn out to be important. I would like to add at this juncture, it is absurd to suggest such images somehow represent the Sun, how could they? The last time I looked, the Sun didn't have horns, or cometary tails, and most certainly no snakes sporting golden/red orbs! The only thing they have in common is they both inhabited the same celestial sphere. 

Ramesses II is credited with siring over 150 children (some say over 200), an unprecedented feat never to be repeated. It is no coincidence that Ramesses's brood numbered in the hundreds, inasmuch, this was a time shortly after the birth of Mercury and as suggested above Ramesses/Mars was surrounded by literally hundreds of 'children.' One of whom would eventually 'outsize' (from earth's perspective) all others to become pharaoh of Egypt - I am referring to Merneptah ("Beloved of Ptah/Jupiter," = a conjunction with Jupiter). Today only two children remain at Pharaonic Mars' side, Phobos and Demos. The former now believed to be made from rocks blasted off the Martian surface in a catastrophic event (Related: Massive blast 'created Mars moon'). No surprise to me as most of the debris (asteroids, comets etc.) littering the solar system today will be found to originate from the planet Mars. This would include the tons of IRON micrometeorites bombarding earth on a daily basis, as well as quantities of sand particles.

Research reveals only god kings wore this particular crown, no queens. This speaks volumes and tells us only the warrior planets Mars, Mercury, and the Moon exhibited such highly distinctive Wadjet traits and not the passive (compared to other bodies) queen Venus. This in itself further supports the God King Scenario, otherwise the question has to be, why was it that only the kings wore this enigmatic crown? Egyptologists please explain.  

This crown appeared just prior too, during, and after the Amarna period - again this is no coincidence. The ancients merely followed the sequential order of events in the heavens. After Mercury's birth, Mars would many times continue to visit earth in the guise of Egypt's god kings and many times it was further seen to belch out material from its large volcanic vents, and of course the Valles Marineris. This is evidenced by later kings shown wearing similar unusual elaborate 'Atef' crowns.    

The question was asked above as to why Wadjet sported a disk; we now have the answer - she was observed birthing many disks and represented accordingly. Such qualities are to be seen not as 'striking out' traits but mothering and creation attributes, thus enabling the synchronisation of Wadjet's previously enigmatic epithets, e.g. 'Serpent Mother.' 'Mother of Creation,' and 'Mistress of the Atef-Crown.' She was all of these and so much more.  

A boiling, percolating Queen Venus (volcanism, of sorts) and the ever present Wadjet.  

Venus presents us with a totally different scenario to that of Mars, in that, while Mars has been torn apart from its once earth-like status to its now virtually dead state, Venus is a new born babe, a new rocky planet in the making. In short, Pharaonic times saw Mars battle itself to death (see Nonexistent Battles of the Pharaohs) while Venus basically cooled down, something it is still doing with surface temperatures hot enough to melt lead. 

The Pharaonic wars are evidenced by the many thousands of impact craters covering the surface of Mars, Mercury and the Moon - all have been incessantly pummelled by space debris - all show signs of numerous cosmic battles. Venus, on the other hand, shows little signs of warring as evidenced by its impacts craters which number only around a thousand.

I will offer a very simple but plausible explanation for this: Venus was bombarded just as much as our three warrior bodies however, during ancient times Venus was considerably hotter than it is today (logical), so its surface was literally boiling, it hadn't yet time to develop a crust. Venus was one vast planetary bubbling molten lava lake with no volcanic vents. We may compare the surface of Venus with boiling lava lakes here on earth as can be seen in these videos. What this means is, Venus assimilated virtually anything that was thrown at it. Stones, rocks, large chunks of debris (source; mainly Mars), all this and more, left virtually no trace. An analogy would be like throwing a large rock into any of the bubbling lava lakes shown in the videos above (but obviously on a far grander scale), no trace would be left. Only after Venus cooled sufficiently enough to develop a thin crust was it able to show any signs of battle. Less than a thousand hits pales into insignificance when compared to the many millions of impacts endured by Egypt's greatest warrior Pharaoh, Thothmosis III, a guise of the Moon.

Despite the fact that the whole solar system was undergoing virtual Armageddon, these basic behavioral traits were the very reason why the 'rocky' (by comparison) Mars, Mercury and the Moon were perceived as fearless warrior god kings while Venus played the role of the ever passive and beautiful Egyptian queen (This, and the fact that Venus remained in the background for most of the time, as discussed in my books).

I mention the above because the boiling disk of Venus was clearly observed on numerous occasions, it was symbolically represented in certain crowns worn by Egypt's New Kingdom queens which we will discuss shortly.   

A visual aspect of what was seen can be gleaned by reviewing the excellent lava videos above and then imagining a red orb, several times the diameter of the Sun (as viewed from earth), exhibiting similar boiling, bubbling traits emanating from its surface. This was Venus only a few thousand years ago - its disk was a seething body of serpent activity. It was clearly seen (courtesy of a hazed red sun) as it bubbled and belched out countless balls of lava; only unlike Mars which threw tons of debris into space, these were more concentrated, with the majority (not all!) immediately falling back to the Venusian surface to be instantly recycled. Similar to (if not exactly same) as we see with earth's boiling lava lakes.

Pharaonic times saw the divine female Venus many times in the image of 'living breathing' red Sun as activity on both bodies was clearly observed, this was reflected in the divine names given to Egypt's queens, e.g. Hatshepsut/Venus (Foremost of the noble) was given the title Maatkare which means 'Just and Full of Vitality Like Re.' An appropriate title (TV Documentary, Queens of the Nile, part 1).  

The serpent snakelike eruptions belching out balls of lava were of course embodied in the goddess Wadjet. They were symbolically represented via a diadem comprising of numerous Wadjet snakes wearing mainly golden orbs. Below are many, what I have dubbed 'wadjet crowns,' for which I hasten to add, scholars have no explanation whatsoever.

The queens (all guises of Venus?) above are all from the time of Ramesses II. First and foremost, they are all shown dressed with the traditional double uraeus. As discussed, this symbolises the point at which the solar wind slams into Venusian surface. Next, they are all crowned with the 'wadjet crown' - invented as a direct result of observations of the bubbling, boiling surface of Venus. The 'Mother of Creation,' Wadjet birthing an infinite numbers of golden orbs. The two queens on the right also sport the Comet Venus headdress – a physical representations of Venus as it actually appeared in ancient times. Since the art of the Egyptians derived solely from events in the heavens, I would further suggest that the elaborate hairdo represents either the gigantic coma surrounding Venus or possibly further symbolises Venus' enormous cometary tails.

This isn't to say other bodies didn't exhibit similar boiling traits - on the contrary, Mars, Mercury and the Moon, all at some point saw extreme temperatures liquidise their surfaces (I would strongly argue, as you would expect). I take my lead for this from the art of the Egyptians which periodically depicts some Pharaohs wearing the same Wadjet crown as the queens.

The image above left, it is a close up of Tutankhamun's crown taken from the Tutankhamun, Ankhesenamun  photo above. You will note that at the base of Tut's more than elaborate crown, and perched on top of his blue wig (actually seen), we have the Wadjet crown - a concentrated den of cobras sporting golden disks, the same as that worn by Egypt’s divine queens. This tells us that, at this particular time, the surface of Mars was also a seething mass of bubbling, boiling lava analogous to the surface of Venus, and the Egyptians observed this (through one hell of a load of dust and debris). The timing of this couldn't be more appropriate, considering that this is the exactly same epoch as my proposed birth of Mercury from Mars... the Amarna Period. It is logical to assume that prior to, during and after Mercury's exit, the surface temperature of Mars was probably in excess of well over 1,000 °C. This, along with observations of Wadjet birthing gigantic golden blobs of iron (through the Valles Marineris) was encapsulated in the headdress.

On the right we have Ramesses with a similar den of divine snakes on the top of his head as well as numerous other wadjet representations. This suggests that surface of Mars during its Ramesses guise was also observed bubbling with snakes, in addition to being surrounded by loads of satellites.


Like all Egyptian deities Wadjet was a mythical goddess invented in order to explain the natural world, or so the conventional way of thinking goes. If this is correct, it raises many questions, such as; how does a red Sun encircled with a snake of no known species explain the world around? How did the idea come about that human kings were protected by a fire breathing snake? How do you perpetuate such a bizarre belief to the masses, generation after generation? Why display the cobra on the forehead? Why were many queens depicted with two, or in some cases, even three Uraei? Wasn't one sufficient enough as with the Egyptian kings? What of Tutankhamun's enigmatic cobra based crown and suchlike? How do these crowns explain one of the most sunniest and driest climates in the world? Crowns, which incidentally have never being found (this in itself speaks volumes).      

There is only one way Wadjet makes sense and that is by placing her in a world dominated by cosmic catastrophe where god king planets reigned over earth amidst, nurtured and protected by Egypt's cosmogonical sky gods (Horus, Isis, Hathor, Amun, Wadjet, etc, etc.).  

As always there is so much more to this, so time permitting, I may add some more 'wadjet' crowns along with my interpretations as to their true meaning in the near future.
